Negative Numbers ന്യൂനസംഖ്യകൾ
What is 5 + (−3)? Or 4 − (−7)? Or (−10) × (−2)? This chapter does not hand you rules to memorise – it builds them from a point moving along a line: positions to the right are positive, to the left negative, and every new rule is chosen so that one simple equation works in every direction. An interactive, animated self-study guide: the basics from earlier classes, every idea of the chapter with real-life examples, animated solutions to every textbook question, a revision sheet, and a model test with a fully solved paper.

Points slide along the number line step by step. Press Next ▶ or ▶▶ Auto play.
🖐️ Play with the numbers
Sliders choose starting positions, moves, speeds and times – watch the answer appear on the line and in the equation together.

The chapter in one picture
A move to the right is a positive change, a move to the left a negative change. Whatever you choose, the finishing position is always x + y. Making that one equation true for every case is exactly why 5 + (−3) means 5 − 3.
